RIASSUNTO
L’Autrice racconta la propria esperienza di osservazione della relazione madre-bambino caratterizzata dalla presenza costante del padre. Il lavoro esamina il ruolo paterno da due distinti vertici osservativi: l’assunzione della funzione paterna nel padre e la formazione del padre nel bambino. A partire dalle difficoltà di sintonizzazione della relazione madre-bambino, si evidenzia che il padre può svolgere molteplici e importanti funzioni: sostenere la madre, mediando il rapporto con il figlio; supplire alle carenze primarie attivando uno stato preoccupato secondario a quello materno deficitario e, contemporaneamente, rappresentare l’elemento terzo separatore, impedendo alla coppia madre-bambino di stabilire un legame conflittuale e simbiotico.

SUMMARY
When observed is the father. The Author tells her own mother-child observation experience characterized by the constant presence of the child’s father. The work examines the father’s role from two distinct perspectives: the attainment of a fatherly function and the formation of the father in the child’s mind. Moving from the tuning in difficulties featuring the relationship between a mother and her child, the manifold, important functions a father can have, are shown. He can, in fact, support the mother through his mediation of her relationship with the baby as well as make up for her basic deficiencies through his own secondary preoccupation, while he still stands for the third, separating element, what helps the mother-child couple to avoid both a conflictual and a symbiotic link.
