RIASSUNTO
L’Autrice affronta il tema dell’eroismo sottolineando la differenza fondamentale che esiste tra idealizzazione e sublimazione e l’importanza che tali aspetti assumono per l’adolescente. Attraverso l’esempio dell’eroe wagneriano sviluppa la relazione complessa tra il progetto genitoriale e la realtà adolescente. La grandezza dell’eroe starebbe nel suo sacrificio, che si appoggia sulla sublimazione del suo Io ideale, e al contempo la sua caratteristica principale sarebbe rappresentata dal coraggio che si esprime attraverso il disprezzo per la morte. E, se l’eroe muore, sopravvivrà in gloria nella fama. Sarà eternamente kalos k’agathos, bello e bravo, e atanatos, eterno.

SUMMARY
The Hero’s Death. The Author treats the theme of Heroism emphasizing the fundamental difference between idealization and sublimation and the importance such aspects hold for the adolescent. Having the Wagnerian hero as a model, she unfolds the complex relationship between parental project and adolescent reality. The hero’s greatness would consist in his sacrifice, which rests on the sublimation of his Ego ideal and, at the same time, his main feature would be expressed by his courage, consisting in his despise of death. And, if the hero dies, his fame will grant him survival. He will for ever be «kalos k’agathos», beautiful and good, and «atanatos», immortal.
