UNA SINFONIA INCOMPIUTA

RIASSUNTO

Gli Autori tentano di delineare in sintesi i tratti essenziali della complicata storia del rapporto fra psicoanalisi e musica, o meglio fra la psicoanalisi e la dimensione sonoro-musicale. In particolare, evidenziano lo snodo fondamentale insito nel rapporto di Freud con il sonoro-musicale, confutando la lectio facilior del biografismo per illuminare alcuni elementi del contesto culturale e scientifico coevo determinanti nella scelta fondativa di Freud di non integrare il sonoro-musicale nell’edificio psicoanalitico. Gli autori indicano infine una parziale integrazione del sonoro-musicale nella psicoanalisi, che è possibile intravedere nel mutato contesto scientifico, anche extra psicoanalitico, degli ultimi decenni.

Un unfinished symphony. History of the relationship between music and psychoanalysis. The Authors make an attempt to outline the fundamental aspects of the complex relationship between psychoanalysis and music or, it would be better to say, between psychoanalysis and the sonorous-musical dimension. In particular, the central point involved in the Freud’s relationship with the sonorous-musical dimension will be high- lighted in order to confute a simplistic hypothesis claiming that Freud’s choice not to include the sonorous-musical dimension in his theory would be based on elements of his personal life. On the contrary, the authors will attempt to shed light on aspects of the cultural and scientific context in which Freud developed his theory. Finally, the authors point out an opportunity for a partial integration of the sonorous-musical dimension within psychoanalysis, which might come from the recent changes in the scientific context, including those in the not psychoanalytic field.
