IL GIOVANE TÖRLESS E LA MATEMATICA

L’Autrice parte dalla constatazione che lo studio della matematica assume in adolescenza una valenza molto particolare: per lo più diviene oggetto di un fiero e categorico rifiuto, in altri casi si trasforma in un rifugio difensivo. Attraverso la narrativa, la psicoanalisi e l’antropologia questo scritto si propone come riflessione sul tema universalmente umano della soggettività e dell’intersoggettività e l’odio per la matematica non appare più come «un problema degli adolescenti», ma diviene l’occasione per meglio comprendere le nostre intime scissioni e il valore euristico e legante del paradosso che l’adolescenza ci consente di cogliere nella sua forza originaria.

SUMMARY

The Young Törless and Mathematics. Moving from a reflection on how peculiar the study of Mathematics is for adolescents, the author argues that it most times becomes the object of a cathegorical, proud rejection but other times it becomes like a sheltering refuge. This study offers a reflection, through fiction, psychoanalysis and anthropology, on the universal, human theme of subjectivity and intersubjectivity. The hatred for Mathematics no longer appears «an adolescent problem» as it becomes a hint for a wider understanding of our intimate split aspects along with the euristic and linking paradox adolescence gives us the opportunity to grasp.
