LE GIOVANI DONNE DI VERMEER E BALTHUS

RIASSUNTO

Gli Autori tratteggiano nel loro scritto un confronto, un dialogo ideale tra l’opera di Vermeer e quella di Balthus. Si focalizzano in particolare su come questi ultimi trattino il tema, caro a entrambi, della fanciullezza femminile e del suo mistero. Nonostante la distanza geo- grafica, storica e del loro universo culturale e artistico, sia Vermeer sia Balthus sono alla ricerca dell’adolescenza e la rappresentano come epoca della vita in cui il soggetto viene abitato dal desiderio e lo fa suo.

Vermeer’s and Balthus’s young women. The Authors draw a comparison, an Ideal dialogue between Vermeer’s and Balthus’s works. In particular, they focus on how they handle the theme, they both privilege, of girlhood and its mistery. However distant in terms of geography, his- tory and cultural and artistic contexts, both Vermeer and Balthus pursue adolescence and represent it as the moment in life in which the subject is inhabited by and endowed with desire.
